Method for determining H2SO4 in automobile exhaust.
A relatively simple procedure for measuring H2SO4 in auto exhaust will be presented. The system is compatible with the Federal constant volume sampler (CVS unit). The time required to get sufficient sample for titration is 15-30 min. Values on sulfates in exhaust with a catalyst car and a noncatalyst car agree well with literature data obtained by dilution tube and filtration techniques.

Vehicular air pollution affects both urban and town air quality all around the world. Air quality in many developing countries is deteriorating according to (WHO/UNEP 1992) report because these countries lack the resources to invest in emission control. Global air pollution problems have captured public attention, because of stratospheric ozone depletion and global warming. In response to globa...
متن کاملRegiospecific linear assembly of Pd nanocubes for hydrogen gas sensing.
Capillary force lithography was applied to generate large area polymer patterns. A "grafting to" approach was used on the patterns to induce linear assembly of Pd nanocubes through electrostatic interaction. Pd nanoarrays with high density were subjected to a hydrogen gas sensing test. We demonstrated a feasible method to build up a miniature hydrogen sensor using self-assembly with micrometre ...
متن کاملMonolithic Three-way Palladium Catalytic Converters for Automobile Exhaust Emission Control
This article presents the research results on production and performance of palladium-only catalytic converters. Monolith is used as the catalyst carrier and gamma alumina as the substrate. Dipping method is used for monolith washcoating. Palladium as the active metal is impregnated on gamma alumina using wet impregnation to produce catalyst samples. The effects of factors such as percent solid...
متن کاملCobots for the Automobile Assembly Line
Intelligent assist devices (IADs) are a new class of hybrid devices for direct, physical, interaction with a human operator in shared workspaces. These devices – designed for the assembly line worker – can reduce ergonomics concerns that arise due to on-the-job physical and cognitive loading, while improving safety, quality and productivity. Cobots, a sub-set of IADs, implement software defined...
